Group assignments anyone? Whether in the classroom or in the workplace, you are gong to run into issues of all shapes and sizes.
Having a cohesive group in the classroom engenders
- a sense of fulfillment when each one is able to make their individual contribution.
- trust in classmates. you will not let the group down and if you feel yourself going down, they know that you will call out for help
- a better future seeing that the same ethos will be translated to the workplace.
In the workplace, cohesion brings the same as in the classroom but more benefits in that activities and processes can be accomplished efficiently, on time and within budget without the “suffering/neglect”.* (Not to mention that fuzzy feeling from doing a job well done! 🙂 )
No blame game? Count yourself blessed if you haven’t had to deal with pot holes, ditches, stagnant drains and worst yet, your car falling apart at the seams as you travel this crazy world we call life. Cohesion patches the pot holes, avoids the ditches and cleans the stagnant drains and lugs around a ton load of duck tape to keep the car intact.
* This is used contextually seeing that you cannot always please everyone all of the time.
